Last night on TV, RC Willey aired an ad about its upcoming "Dr. Martin Luther King Day Sale." I think this is a disgrace.
It's bad enough that Memorial Day has turned from a day to remember our fallen service members, to little more than a sale day. Now one of the great figures of our time has become a victim of the same commercialization.
Dr. King should be remembered for his struggle to promote unity, peace and understanding, not to sell dishwashers and dining room furniture.
What's next, a "9/11 Day Sale"?
