The 2014 Sundance Film Festival hasn't even officially started yet and already announcements about film acquisitions have hit the inbox.

Magnolia Pictures and Paramount Pictures announced Thursday that the Sundance U.S. Dramatic premiere, "Happy Christmas," will be distributed for theaters and video on demand. A release date had not been announced but Magnolia plans to release the film in theaters this summer.

The film, written and directed by Joe Swanberg ("Drinking Buddies"), premieres Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the Library Center Theatre in Park City.

"Happy Christmas" stars Anna Kendrick ("Up in the Air") and Lena Dunham ("Girls") in this drama about sisters who turn to each other for support as Christmas approaches.
