A car that investigators have been looking for since two former Provo residents were killed late last year was found with a body in the trunk, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
On Dec. 24, Salvatore Belvedere, 22, and Ilona Flint, 22, were shot in a San Diego, Calif., mall parking lot, according to the Union-Tribune. Gianni Belvedere, 24, who is Salvatore's brother and Flint's fiancé, disappeared after the shooting, but police did not declare him a suspect. All three attended Provo High School, according to the paper.
On Friday, police announced that they had found a Toyota Camry with Utah plates a make and model that family said belonged to Gianni Belvedere parked in a strip mall in Riverseide, Calif., according to the Union-Tribune. A decomposing body was inside, which the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Office said "was that of a 24-year-old man who was the victim of a homicide," the Union-Tribune adds.
Investigators are not identifying the 24-year-old until after an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday, Sgt. Bob Marks told the Union-Tribune on Saturday.
