PASADENA, Calif. - Week before last, CBS was very excited about presenting its new series Intelligence to journalists here at the Television Critics Association press tour. The premiere, which aired on a Tuesday between "NCIS" and "Person of Interest," attracted 16 million viewers.

Six days later, things turned. Episode 2, which aired in the regular "Intelligence" time slot - Monday at 9 p.m. On Ch. 2 - attracted 6 million viewers.

"Nobody wants to lose, and [Tuesday] morning when we woke up and the ratings weren't what they had been, that sucked," said executive producer Michael Seitzman "There's no other way to put it, but that sucked. It was great having five days watching your network tout you as the No. 1 new show on TV."

"That didn't suck," interjected "Intelligence" star Marg Helgenberger.

"No, that didn't suck at all," Seitzman said. "That was great. We loved that. And we have that. And they can't take it away from us."

However, if the numbers don't go up, odds of them having "Intelligence" for long are not good.

In tonight's episode, the chip in Gabriel's head is hacked.
