Storm Troopers dance in Salt Lake City's coolest alley

Someone made a video of twerking storm troopers, and they made it in Salt Lake City's coolest back alley.

The video went up Jan. 19 and by Tuesday had more than half a million views. The video was created by Scott Winn, with choreography by Jason Celaya and music by Winn and his friend Brenden.

An accompanying behind-the-scenes video — shot by the same guy who made the Santa Dragon video — gives some background on the people who made the video and shows some of the work that went into making it.

The video is obviously making waves online, but for Utah residents offers an added treat: a look at one of the best back alleys in Salt Lake City. The alley starts on 200 South beneath the Walker Center parking garage. It then extends north up the block, behind the old Tribune building, to the area behind O'Shucks. At that point it turns right and dumps out onto Regent Street.

The space is one of the few of its kind in a city without many gritty, hidden-away spaces.

The space also may be largely disappearing; the nearly-under construction Utah Performing Arts Center will reshape the entire block and looks like it will be built over the alley.
