East defensive lineman Korey Rush wasn't expecting to like Reno, Nev., when he first visited the town while mulling an offer to play football at the University of Nevada.

But he was pleasantly surprised when he got there. So much so that he has committed to play for the Wolfpack, ending a sometimes-arduous recruiting process for the sought-after senior.

"It's a really good fit for me," said Rush, who originally was headed to Arizona State but later decommitted. "Personally I'm just happy to be committed to a place I can trust with good people. I'm really thankful to get an opportunity to play."

Rush, who many recruiting services rated as a three-star prospect, said he also was interested in UNLV and Illinois. One factor that swayed him to Nevada was coach Brian Polian and defensive line coach Bill Teerlinck.

I just love coach Polian and coach Bill," Rush said. "Coach Bill just said he wants me to be me and get after the passer. The only thing he demands is I be relentless, and that's me."

Rush is the latest of several players to commit from the state Class 4A runners-up. East tailbacks Ula Tolutau and Preston Curtis are headed to Wisconsin and Utah State, respectively. Tight end Joe Tukuafu has committed to Utah, and offensive lineman Tennessee Su'e Su'e will play at Boise State.
