West Valley City police chief to host community forum

West Valley City Police Chief Lee Russo will host an open meeting with the community on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, located at 1355 W. 3100 South in West Valley City.

Russo will discuss crime prevention and other community concerns, according to a press release.

In an effort to increase public awareness and transparency, Russo also will discuss the current state of the police department and future plans for the organization, the press release states.

He also will respond to questions from citizens about the department's operations and responsiveness.

Russo plans to continue hosting similar monthly meetings with the community, which he has labeled the "Police/Community Forum."

Dates, times and locations for future meetings will be announced at a later date.
