Police need the public's help identifying the man they say robbed three Salt Lake County tanning salons.

Unified Police say the suspect held up a salon at 4139 S. 1785 West in Taylorsville just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, then one at 4550 S. 900 East in Holladay about 20 minutes later.

Both times, the suspect brandished a knife at the staff and demanded money, said Lt. Justin Hoyal. The staff complied and the suspect left and, after the Holladay robbery, was seen getting into a silver SUV, Hoyal said.

Then at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect allegedly robbed the European Tan store at 5664 S. 900 East in Murray. The suspect laid a knife on the counter, demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a Murray police news release.

Murray police describe the suspect as a Latino man in his 20s who stands about 5-foot-8 and has a thin build. He has short black hair and was wearing a plaid shirt with pants — or long shorts — and was carrying a black drawstring backpack, the release adds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Murray Police Department at 801-840-4000 or the Unified Police Department at 801-743-7000.
