Police Friday were hunting a robber who hit a credit union in Cottonwood Heights.

The man walked into the University of Utah Federal Credit Union at 7200 S. Highland Drive about 5 p.m., according to Cottonwood Heights Lt. Mark Askerlund. The man brandished a handgun and demanded money before fleeing on foot, Askerlund said.

The man escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. Askerlund said there were four bank employees in the building at the time and no one was injured.

Askerlund described the robber as a white male with a darker or very tan complexion. He stands about 5 feet 11 inches tall, has curly hair and appeared to be between 36 and 40 years old. He wore a green and gray jacket or hoodie, a beanie and had several days of stubble.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Cottonwood Heights police at 801-840-4000.
