The arrival of a series of winter storms expected Wednesday into the coming weekend prompted the Utah Department of Transportation to issue drivers alerts.

UDOT warned that beginning Tuesday night, northern Utah mountain roads and passes would begin seeing significant snowfall. Meanwhile, valleys along the Wasatch Front will see periods of rain that could make roads slippery as well.

On Thursday night, that valley rainfall could morph into snow showers in northwestern Utah, creating wet and slushy driving.
