This week's Utah Crowd-Funding project is on a quest for a million dollars — with the first $30,000 coming from people like you.

"I am going to show that the American dream is very much still alive and the power is in each of us to set ourselves up for the future that we want to live in," writes Andrew Wilcox on the Kickstarter page for his project, "My American Dream." "I believe I can make $1 million in one year. I have several business ideas that I want to try out and I am willing to do everything ethical and fair to get there."

Wilcox aims to document the process of making a million, which is where the proceeds from his Kickstarter campaign will go. Filmmaker Seth Owens will make a web series and documentary about Wilcox's quest — and needs money for equipment, travel expenses, and a film crew.

The Kickstarter campaign has a way to go. With 21 days left, it has raised $537 of the $30,000 goal — or less than 2 percent. The campaign ends Feb. 19.

Benefits for donors range from montly email updates (for a $15 pledge) to a full executive-producer credit (for $10,000).
