Orem police are seeking eyewitnesses to what they've described as a kidnapping and sexual assault of a 11-year-old girl walking to school.

About 8 a.m. Wednesday, the girl was walking to Cherry Hill Elementary School, 250 E. 1650 South. A white man in his late teens or early 20s took the girl by the arm and walked her, sometimes forcibly, to a nearby church parking lot, said Orem police Lt. Craig Martinez. There, he sexually assaulted her, Martinez said.

The suspect left and the girl ran back to school. She told her teacher what happened. Police were called.

The girl wore a pink coat and light blue jeans, Martinez said. The suspect is described as wearing a gray hoodie, black ball cap and tennis shoes.
