A coverage goal for The Salt Lake Tribune is to help readers gain access to as much information as possible so you can educate yourselves and make informed decisions about issues important to you.

We've introduced a new feature to our coverage of the 2014 Legislature with that goal in mind.

"In Their Own Words," produced by Jennifer Napier-Pearce and Kevin Winters Morriss, is a series of short video interviews with lawmakers explaining key bills and sharing what motivated them to sponsor the bills.

The videos take viewers straight to the source, and add a dimension to our comprehensive report on the Legislature that personalizes coverage of often complex issues.

You'll see the videos embedded in stories about key bills, but you also may watch them by visiting this playlist on The Tribune's YouTube channel.
