Deedee Corradini, a former Salt Lake City mayor, enjoyed Tuesday's first Olympic women's ski jumping competition after joining in the fight for the event's inclusion as president of Women's Ski Jumping USA. But she's not finished.

The women competed in only one event in Sochi's Games, the normal hill jump. The men have three events.

"Now, we have to work on 2018, getting women on the large hill and [in] a team event," Corradini said at the venue. "As soon as Sochi is over, we start working on that."

Park City's Sarah Hendrickson stands to benefit from more opportunities, considering she's 19. Hendrickson, who by random draw became the first women's ski jumper in Olympic history, spent part of Wednesday doing media interviews on behalf of Visa, her sponsor. She intends to skip the rest of the World Cup season to rest her knee, having undergone surgery less than six months ago.
