Letter: Expand Gunnison for more prison space

Why not expand the Gunnison prison? There is plenty of land.

If the state moves the Draper prison, they have a transportation problem ("Move Draper prison, committee says," Tribune, Feb. 5). The courts, medical facilities, staff and volunteers are in the Salt Lake Valley. Gunnison expansion would be far less expensive.

If legislators want to relocate the prison, let those who want relocation pay for it, not the taxpayers.
