Cottonwood Heights police Sunday were searching for a knife-wielding Rite Aid shopper turned robber.

Police said a white man, about 30 years old, entered the store at 2378 E. Fort Union Blvd. about 1:45 p.m. Sunday and proceeded to pick up some items off the shelf and then took them to the cashier.

As he was checking out, the man pulled a knife and demanded money. The cashier complied and the man fled with the money, leaving the items behind.

Police said the man was about 5-foot-8, between 150 and 185 pounds and had a goatee. He was wearing a beanie stocking cap with a horizontal stripe, a pullover, dark pants and a light green Spectrum shirt.

No one was injured.
