Fast food franchise, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, announced it is expanding in Utah with nine more locations in Salt Lake County.

The restaurant, which serves Louisiana-style chicken dinners, is opening its first Salt Lake County location in West Jordan, which is scheduled to open in May. Three more will be built in 2014 and five in 2015. There are currently three Popeyes locations in Utah, one at the Salt Lake International Airport, at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi and at Hill Air Force Base.

"The response from our Salt Lake City guests to our unique, Louisiana-inspired food has been overwhelmingly positive," said Greg Vojnovic, vice president and chief development officer for Popeyes. "This is a priority market for us and we are committed to an aggressive development strategy in this area."
