Robbers in "old man" masks held up a jewelry store Friday afternoon near Trolley Square in Salt Lake City.

Witnesses reported that three people went into the Jewelers Guild at about 1:20 p.m., armed and wearing "masks representing old men," said Salt Lake City police Lt. Josh Scharmin.

They took some merchandise and fled in a grey van that headed east, Scharmin said.

No one was injured, Scharmin said. One witness reported hearing a shot fired, but that had not been confirmed as of 2 p.m. Friday.

Anyone with information may call police at 801-799-3000.

The Jewelers Guild, at 703 E. 600 South, also was robbed in June by people in costume. Two armed men in matching light blue shirts and dark pants first claimed to be police and then took merchandise from the store.
