Man with swollen eye robs Salt Lake County bank

Cottonwood Heights police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspected bank robber.

About 9:45 a.m. Saturday, the man passed a note to a teller at the Zions Bank at 7015 S. Highland Drive. The note demanded money from the bank and the man intimated that he had a gun, said Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Corbett Ford.

The teller gave him the money and the suspect left. He was last seen heading east on Fort Union Boulevard on foot, Ford said.

Surveillance photos show the man wearing a red zip-up hoodie, a scarf and a dark-colored billed beanie. Ford noted that the man has a swollen left eye, "as if he had a black eye."

Investigators suspect he may have been involved in a Salt Lake City robbery, but are still trying to confirm that, Ford said.
