The FBI is seeking the public's assistance in finding and prosecuting the person or people who vandalized several southeastern Idaho LDS chapels.

Special Agent William Facer of the FBI's Salt Lake City office said Wednesday that the vandalism came in the form of numerous pornographic images and misspelled epithets spray-painted on church buildings at three locations in the Chubbuck, Idaho area on Nov. 6-7, 2013.

The subject drew several male genitalia on the exterior walls, sidewalks and doors of the churches and wrote several phrases including, 'Brigham Young was a rapist,' 'Sheepole,' 'Die Mormans,' 'Burn in Hell,' and 'Burn!'," Facer stated.

The suspect or suspects in these potential "hate crimes" also left several upside-down crosses on the church buildings and adjoining grounds.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrests and convictions of the responsible person or persons, Facer said.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the FBI Boise, Idaho, office at 208-344-7843, or the Chubbuck Police Department at 208-237-7172.
