The Montage Deer Valley in Park City was one of only six hotels nationwide to be added to AAA's exclusive Five Diamond club this year.

Only .4 percent of 29,000 hotels the organization inspects receive the award. The only two other Utah hotels to receive the honor are the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, which has been five diamond since 2002, and Salt Lake City's Grand America Hotel, a member since 2004. The Beehive State has no five diamond restaurants.

AAA has awarded a number of Utah hotels and restaurants its Four Diamond awards. Only 5.3 percent of hotels and 2.5 percent of restaurants nationwide gain that status.

Utah Four Diamond hotels include Midway's Blue Boar Inn, Invited Inn and Zermatt; Park City's Goldener Hirsch, Grand Summit Hotel, Hyatt Escala, St. Regis Deer Valley, the Chateaux and Washington School House; Salt Lake City's Hotel Monaco and Little America, and the Green Valley Spa and Resort in St. George.

The Beehive State's Four Diamond Restaurants include the Blue Boar Inn in Midway; the Chef's Table in Orem; the Apex, Glitretind, Goldener Hirsch, Grappa, J&G Grill at St. Regis, Riverhorse on Main in Park City; Forage, Log Haven, the Paris Bistro and Valter's Osteria in Salt Lake City and the Tree Room at Sundance.
