We Will Sing and Not Be Silent: Women, Faith Traditions, and Leadership

30-Hour Famine

The Youth of Christ United Methodist Church will participate in the annual 30-Hour Famine to raise money and awareness about world hunger. The group will go without food for 30 hours (juice is consumed) and learn about the challenges of hunger and poverty through competitions, learning experiences and worship times. 'Practicing Charity: Everyday Daughters of God' Exhibit

The LDS Church History Museum will present "Practicing Charity: Everyday Daughters of God," a seven-month exhibition featuring the works of three LDS artists: Lee Bennion, Brian Kershisnik and Kathy Peterson. The artists, chosen because their pieces honor women, highlight the joy in the small moments of life. The exhibit features interactive elements for kids.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Roman Catholic Church's springtime fast, will occur on March 5. Masses for the imposition of ashes will be celebrated at 8 a.m., noon with the Choir School, 6 p.m. with the Cathedral Choir and 8 p.m. in Spanish with the Cathedral Spanish Choir.
