An Idaho man died in a traffic crash during a heavy rainstorm Thursday near Wellington.

Jack Le Roy Seiber, 22, was driving a Ford Escort west on State Road 6 in Carbon County about 3 p.m. when an eastbound Toyota 4Runner lost control and crashed into Seiber's Escort, Utah Highway Patrol reported.

Seiber, of Blackfoot, Idaho, died.

The driver of the 4Runner was not injured, but two passengers were taken to a hospital; they were expected to survive, according to police reports.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors.

Troopers said the sudden downpour likely contributed to the crash.
