Skiing • Olympic champion Kjetil Jansrud of Norway overcame tricky racing conditions on his favorite home course in Kvitfjell to win a World Cup super-G race on Sunday ahead of Switzerland's Patrick Kueng.
Jansrud, who won gold in super-G at the Sochi Olympics last month, finished 0.26 seconds ahead of Kueng and 0.33 clear of Olympic downhill champion Matthias Mayer of Austria.
American Travis Ganong was confident after placing third in Friday's downhill and fourth in Saturday's downhill. But he was hampered by a late starting number 28 and the snow was falling hard when he failed to finish his run. Countryman Andrew Weibrecht, silver medalist in super-G at Sochi, was seventh and Bode Miller took 12th.
• Andrea Fischbacher of Austria was the surprise winner of the delayed women's World Cup downhill in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, claiming her first victory in four years. She skied down the new Mont-Lachaux slope in 1 minute, 34 seconds, beating compatriot Anna Fenninger by 0.15.
Julia Mancuso was the top American finisher in 18th place.

TENNIS • Argentine Federico Delbonis won his first ATP title by defeating Paolo Lorenzi of Italy 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Brazil Open final in Sao Paulo.
Mota announces retirement
MLB • Reliever Guillermo Mota has announced he is retiring after 14 seasons in the major leagues. Mota was a non-roster invitee to the Kansas City Royals camp and did not pitch last season. The 40-year-old right-hander made 743 career relief appearances with a 3.94 ERA in is career.
