Letter: Earned-income tax credit no good as steady income

Re "Bloomberg: Obama gives GOP a real chance to help the working poor," Opinion, March 5: The writers of this piece touted the superiority of the earned income tax credit over an increase in the minimum wage. The questionable data of $60 billion being distributed to low-income workers given as an argument for tax credit superiority is spurious.

I can only assume that writer only needs to eat once a year, and then have a feast? Most of us like our beans on a daily basis.

How does that prayer go, "Give us this day our daily bread"?
