A 30-year-old man was sitting in his car when a bullet ripped into him. Now, investigators are trying to figure out what happened.
The shooting happened Tuesday about 6:40 p.m., according to FBI spokesman William Facer. The man's car was parked outside his home in the Turnkey subdivision of Fort Duchesne when the bullet hit him.
Fort Duchesne is part of the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation, and agents from the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs are working the case.
Medical crews flew the man to the Uintah Basin Medical Center, where he is recovering, Facer reported.
Facer did not say if investigators have a theory about what happened.
The incident follows a Feb. 17 shooting that left a teenage boy injured in the Whiterocks community, also in Uintah County. Facer said the shootings are apparently unrelated.
