It will be about a month before Red Butte Garden announces its summer outdoor concert schedule — but singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne couldn't wait.

LaMontagne, who plays a soulful folk-rock repertoire, announced a nationwide tour today — which includes a stop August 8 at the Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre.

LaMontagne will be touring in support of his upcoming album, "Supernova," which will be released May 6.

Opening for LaMontagne (and serving as his backing band) is The Belle Brigade, an upbeat Southern California rock duo made up of siblings Barbara and Ethan Gruska.

Tickets for the summer series go on sale to Red Butte members on April 28, and to the public on May 5. The full line-up is expected to be announced in April.

Red Butte Garden is located at 300 Wakara Way, on the University of Utah campus.
