Utah forecast: Breezy, sunny weather ahead as storms exit

A breezy, sunny forecast is in place for Utah Thursday as the latest rain- and snow-laden storm systems moved out of the state.

Along the Wasatch Front temperatures were to climb into the upper-50s, up a few degrees from Wednesday's forecast. Winds of 10-20 mph also were expected, gusting higher along the ridge lines.

In southern Utah's Dixie the daytime highs were to range into the mid-60s with winds of 15-25 mph near the region's canyons.

That statewide atmospheric stirring translates to clear skies and "green," or healthy grades for all Utah monitoring stations on Thursday, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality.

Meanwhile, snowfall totals for Tuesday's storm showed a moderate aftermath for the Wasatch benches — 1 to 2 inches — while mountain resorts ranged from 15 and 14 inches at Snowbird and Alta, respectively, to 7 inches at Park City's summit, The Canyons and Brighton.

While the mountains above Salt Lake City and the Uintas began Wednesday with "considerable" risk ratings for potentially deadly backcountry snowslides, the rest of the state's mountains registered"moderate" avalanche danger grades.
