Earlier this week, Salt Lake Tribune military reporter Nate Carlisle wrote a Notes from the Newsroom blog post about his effort through the Utah Government Records Access and Management Act to get water records from Bluffdale related to the National Security Agency's Utah Data Center.

Bluffdale has denied Carlisle's request for information about how much water the massive NSA center uses. On March 19, he'll appear before the State Records Committee to argue it should order Bluffdale to provide the records.

The Tribune has made the center a coverage priority, and has written numerous stories about it and the NSA.

On Friday, Carlisle's quest for records earned a mention on the Washington Post's GovBeat blog by Niraj Chokshi.

The blog post features a Q and A with Carlisle, who explains the information about water usage can lend understanding to what kind of computing power is in place at the Utah center.
