Goal Zero founder to speak at Weber State

The founder of Goal Zero, which produces portable solar-powered generators, will speak about business ethics at Weber State University's Hurst Center Dumke Legacy Hall Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

The free talk is part of the Goddard School of Business Buehler Lecture series and co-sponsored by WSU's Richard Richards Institute. It and an opening reception at 5:30 p.m. are open to the public.

Robert Workman, who started the Riverton-based company in 2009 after visiting the Democratic Republic of the Congo and coming up with the idea to create a solar-powered generator. Workman also started the non-profit humanitarian organization, Tifie Humanitarian (Teaching Individuals and Families Independence through Enterprise).

"We are excited to have Robert Workman speak at Weber State because he is so passionate about including ethical behavior in everything," Jeff Steagall, dean of the Goddard School of Business & Economics, said in a statement. "It is important for Weber State students to see you can have success without compromising your values."
