A 10-year-old Riverton boy critically hurt in a weekend accident at Tooele County's Miller Motorsports Park has died from his injuries, his family confirmed Monday.

In a statement, the family of Tyce Olsen said they had decided to donate the boy's organs to help others live, and to "keep his memory alive."

The boy had reportedly been attempting a jump on the course during a youth race event when he crashed early Saturday evening. A medical helicopter rushed him to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, but he was later pronounced dead.

"Motocross racing was his passion in life, and all he ever wanted to do," the Olsen family stated. "We took every precaution to ensure our son was safe. We made sure he wore his protective gear in every race."

The family declined questions, asking for privacy during their time of grief.

In 2009, 8-year-old Logan Emerson died in a motocross race at Rocky Mountain Raceway in Sandy.
