Deer Valley Resort skiers can now use a phone app available on iOS and Android platform to enhance their ski experience.
Developed by San-Diego-based CarteScape, Inc., the app includes GPS navigation with augmented reality and an interactive map.
Those who use it can record the statistics of their ski runs, tracking both vertical distance and speed measurements. According to the resort, the app also has social integration, allowing users to share photos and run statistics on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. The app can also be used to find friends on the mountain or arrange meeting times and locations. One tab allows easy purchase of lift tickets before arriving at the mountain. Another allows skiers to contact the Ski Patrol.
"Deer Valley Resort makes guest service its top priority, which is why we are constantly looking for the best ways to provide guests with convenient and up-to-date technological offerings," said Bob Wheaton, president and general manager of Deer Valley in a news release. "Enhancing the guest experience, extending our range of services and facilitating a better understanding of guests' needs is exactly what we were looking for in a ski app."
