Having lived in several states, I've witnessed reckless driving habits of countless individuals from all walks of life, but I have yet to see a group of drivers as reckless, nay repulsive, as the ones I have seen here in this great state.
After reading about our high rate of mental illness, the highest in the nation, actually, I thought that maybe the two were linked in some sort of way ("Two faces of Utah: Healthy but mentally ill," Tribune, March 16).
Does the "Awe, $?@! it" attitude of a lot of drivers have a deeper meaning? I sure as heck don't know, but I think it's worth looking into.
Whatever level your mental stability is at, let's please try to be safer out on our roads. Lives depend on it.
