Motorcyclist critically injured in West Valley City collision

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a Friday collision in West Valley City.
The man, 60, was driving east on 3300 South about 12:25 p.m. when he collided with a westbound SUV that was turning south. The motorcyclist was flung 20 to 30 feet, at which point his body struck a stopped car and slid underneath it, said West Valley City police Lt. Dalan Taylor.
The man suffered severe head injury and several broken bones, including fractures to both of his legs, Taylor said. He was taken to a hospital and remained in critical condition as of 3 p.m.
His injuries were considered life-threatening, Taylor said.
The motorcyclist was not wearing his helmet, which was found in his saddlebag.
