Women's basketball: Southern Utah visits Colorado for second round of NIT

The Southern Utah women's basketball team will try to extend its best-ever season when it visits Colorado on Saturday (7 p.m.) for a second-round game in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

The Thunderbirds (23-9) are coming off a 71-56 win over Colorado State on Thursday.

Colorado (18-14) beat SUU 75-59 in a nonconference game on Dec. 29 in Boulder.

Hailey Mandelko leads SUU in scoring at 14.5 points per game, while Lori Parkison agerages 11.8 and Carli Moreland 11.0. Moreland ranks fifth in SUU history in rebounds (756) and fifth in blocked shots (98). —
