GYMNASTICS • In Berkeley, Calif., on Saturday, the Red Rocks became the first Utah team to be crowned Pac-12 champions. They did so in dominant fashion, with the seventh-best total in school history at 197.925, and with individual titles from junior Georgia Dabritz (vault, bars and floor), junior Tory Wilson (all-around) and senior Nansy Damianova (floor, tied for first). For a few cherries on top, conference coaches named Greg and Megan Marsden the Pac-12's coaches of the year, Wilson as top gymnast and Dabritz as top specialist.

ON DECK: NCAA Regionals on April 5, location TBA

MEN'S BASKETBALL • The Runnin Utes struggled to close all season, particularly on the road. Once again — with Saint Mary's on the ropes in the first round of the NIT — the Utes played foil in a dramatic rally by the Gaels to lose 70-58 and end Utah's season. The good news: Most of the core returns next year, including, according to Tribune reporter Tony Jones, All-Pac-12 junior Delon Wright.

ON DECK: Season over

FOOTBALL • The first three days of spring camp are over, with the defense ahead of the offense as new coordinator Dave Christensen installs his scheme using a 20-second play clock, and junior quarterback Travis Wilson sheds some of the rust from a four-month injury hiatus.

Day 1 notes

Day 2 notes

Day 3 notes

ON DECK: Days 5-6 (Tuesday and Thursday 3-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-noon, either at the practice field or Rice-Eccles Stadium)

SWIMMING AND DIVING • The Utah women were first up at NCAAs and doubled the school's all-time number of swimming All-Americans. Only three Ute women had earned that distinction before senior Tracie Swartz (100 free), freshman Stina Colleou (200 breast) and junior Kersten Merry (platform diving) did so Thursday through Saturday in Minneapolis. Merry is the first female diver with All-American honors.

ON DECK: The men's NCAA Championships (Thursday through Saturday in Austin, Texas)

BASEBALL • Hopes to improve on last year's 7-23 Pac-12 record are not bolstered by early results. No. 4 Oregon State finished off a three-game sweep last Sunday, and No. 9 Oregon did the same this Sunday to put the injury-riddled Utes in an 0-6 hole. The bright side: Only one other Pac-12 team (UCLA) is ranked, so it gets easier.

ON DECK: vs. BYU (Tuesday at 7 p.m., Smith's Ballpark), at. Cal (Friday through Sunday)

SOFTBALL • The Utes beat BYU 1-0 on Thursday with a walk-off double from Kate Wickman in the ninth, then lost Friday's Pac-12 home opener against No. 3 Oregon 8-7 after a late rally fell short.

ON DECK: vs. Oregon (Today at 2 p.m., Monday at noon), vs. Idaho State (Wednesday at noon), at UCLA (Friday through Sunday)

GOLF • Did not play.

ON DECK: Oregon Duck Invitational (Monday and Tuesday in Eugene, Ore.)

SKIING • A few of Utah's best took on the nation's elite at the U.S. Alpine Championships in Squaw Valley, Calif., with freshman Mark Engel getting sixth in slalom and 11th in grand slalom, freshman Chloe Fausa seventh in giant slalom and junior Kristina Rove scoring 10th in the slalom.

ON DECK: Season over

MEN'S TENNIS • Did not play.

ON DECK: vs. Stanford (Friday at 1:30 p.m.), vs. Cal (Sunday at 11 a.m.)

WOMEN'S TENNIS • The Utes beat No. 62 Marshall 5-2, then lost to No. 16 Cal 6-1. Results from Sunday's contest against No. 4 Stanford were not immediately available.

ON DECK: No matches this week.

WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD • Three Utah women finished top 10 in the 800, with junior Ali Eisenbeiss taking second at Trojan Invitational in Los Angeles, Utah's first outdoor meet of the season. Senior Nikkie Rudder was second in the shot put, sophomore Kailey Hansen was second in the high jump and senior Susannah Hurst was third in the 1500 meters.

ON DECK: at Arizona State Invitational (Saturday), at UVU Invitational (Saturday)

WOMEN'S SOCCER • Did not play

ON DECK: vs. Utah State (Friday at 7 p.m.), vs. Utah Valley (Saturday at 7 p.m.)

VOLLEYBALL • Did not play.

ON DECK: Utah Spring Invitational exhibition (Saturday at Crimson Court)
