A duo of suspected Cedar City thieves were busted Saturday during a traffic stop.

The two men first came to the attention of police after they allegedly stole from a Wal-Mart in Cedar City Saturday afternoon, according to the Iron County Sheriff's Office. Investigators then traced their truck, a black Ford F150, and managed to pull it over just after 4:30 p.m.

During the traffic stop, the officer could see what looked like the stolen merchandise in plain view.

But the officer also spotted something else: a 2-year-old girl. The child was then taken to her mother. The sheriff's office did not say how the girl ended up in the truck or what her relationship may have been to the suspected thieves.

Both men also are convicted felons who were violating their probation. One of the men had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

During a search of the men's home, police discovered allegedly stolen Airsoft weapons and ammo, drug paraphernalia and other stolen items.

Both men were booked into the Iron County Jail on suspicion of theft, drug possession, weapons possession and other charges.
