Coming off an 18-14 season, Utah State basketball has already lost five seniors to graduation, two postseason transfers and now a third.

Sophomore forward Kyle Davis will leave the Aggies this year, after playing only one year in Logan, according to a school news release. Starting 27 games at power forward, the 6-foot-7 Davis averaged 9.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

Davis was himself a transfer to the program from Southern Utah after his LDS Church mission.

With Davis' departure added to the transfers of Jordan Stone and Danny Berger announced last week, Utah State has only two frontcourt players from this year scheduled to return in junior Ben Clifford and freshman Jalen Moore, with David Collette coming off an LDS Church mission. Aside from a commitment from center Elston Jones last week, the Aggies have no frontcourt talent scheduled to come in with the spring signing period a few weeks away.

The program goes through the turnover following one of the roughest seasons of coach Stew Morrill's tenure at Utah State. In its first year in the Mountain West, the team finished 7-11 in its new conference and was brushed out of the conference tournament by San Diego State. While the Aggies have stated their goal is to add talent that can compete in the Mountain West, Davis helped them do that this season. He finished in the conference's top 10 lists for blocks and rebounds.
