Habitat for Humanity of Weber and Davis Counties are breaking ground April 4 on a new affordable home for Michelle Merila and her two children, who are disabled.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house will be constructed at 155 E. Lincoln Ave. in Ogden and will be wheelchair accessible.
As part of the deal, the Merila family must put in a minimum of 500 sweat equity hours and are required to participate in mortgage and financial counseling.
Ogden City Mayor Mike Caldwell and Weber County Commissioner Jan Zogmaister will participate at the groundbreaking, which begins at noon.
