On Thursday, Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for the upcoming reboot of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," and you be the judge: Is it going to go down like a good pizza or will it stink like a sewer?

Personally, I think the new CG turtles look kind of creepy, but not as scary as knowing that Michael Bay ("Transformers") is producing it.

The filmmakers have an uphill battle with fans who already are angry over rumors that Bay is taking liberties with the mythology, but we'll see when the movie debuts in August. Needless to say, the PR machine has already gone into high gear.

The studio sent Tribune movie critic Sean P. Means a pepperoni pizza Thursday to promote the movie. The stunt would have guaranteed that Sean give the movie four stars except that he's a vegetarian. Instead, I'm sure he'll just give it 3½ stars.
