Lawyers are volunteering to help legal immigrants apply for citizenship, as part of an annual Citizenship Day event.
The Utah Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association has scheduled clinics for April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at two locations: the Salt Lake County Center, 2001 S. State Street in Salt Lake City, and at United Way, 148 N. 100 West in Provo.
The group says several immigration attorneys will be joined by volunteers to help eligible immigrants apply for citizenship on a first-come, first-served basis.
Last year, the organization and partners held 40 naturalization clinics in 23 states.
