The 116th Utah State Amateur Championship will have a 288-player field for the second year in a row, while using a second golf course for the first time in tournament history.

The two rounds of stroke-play qualifying will be staged July 7-8 at the Ogden Golf and Country Club and Valley View Golf Course in Layton. The 63 golfers (plus defending champion Cole Ogden) who advance to match play then will compete at the Ogden G & CC for the next four days.

The tournament used a similar format last year, when the 36-hole Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway accommodated a bigger field.

The Utah Golf Association is adding a new element this year, with a "last chance" qualifying event July 1 at Wolf Creek Golf Club in Eden for golfers who miss the registration deadline or fail to advance through a previous regional qualifying tournament.
