Salt Lake City police arrested an adult and two juveniles in a weekend drive-by shooting and car chase.

About 4:20 p.m. Saturday, the suspects were seen in a black Lexus driving slowly by a home in the 1100 North block of Catherine Street (1400 West). The homeowner was outside, parked in his pickup truck, as the suspects stared at him and then proceeded down the road.

The homeowner went inside his house and soon thereafter heard gunfire. He rushed outside and learned from a neighbor that the occupants of the Lexus had shot his pickup at least once.

The man got into his pickup and went in search of the suspects, locating them still inside the Lexus near 600 N. 900 West. A brief chase ensued, ending when the suspects crashed into a utility pole at 1000 N. 900 West. The occupants of the Lexus fled on foot.

A witness stopped the two juvenile suspects and held them for police. A third suspect, a 26-year-old man, was located by gang detectives and arrested on Sunday, police said.

The juveniles were awaiting judicial proceedings, but the adult was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, and interfering with an arrest.
