Salt Lake City-based Pluralsight, which develops online learning courses for software developers, IT specialists and other professionals, has acquired online training company Digital-Tutors.
The $45-million acquisition marks Pluralsight's fourth in eight months.
Digital-Tutor, based in Oklahoma City, has a catalog of 1,500 creative-skills courses that will double Pluralsight's existing catalog. Pluralsight says it has had triple-digit growth in 2013 and expects to do the same in 2014. In the last eight months, it has purchased three other companies that develop online training: PeepCode, Tekpub, and TrainSignal.
"Bringing Digital-Tutors on board has positioned Pluralsight as a complete solution for professional technology and creative skills training," Pluralsight CEO and co-founder Aaron Skonnard said in a statement. "In the competitive e-learning space, where most companies have brought skills training to beginning and mid-level enthusiasts, we are cementing our status as a career catalyst and go-to resource for the serious professional."
Pluralsight's clients include movie studios Pixar and DreamWorks and video game publishers Rockstar Game and Electronic Arts.
