Salt Lake City cops nab credit union robbery suspect

Early Thursday morning, Salt Lake City police located and arrested a suspect in credit union robbery.

Police Detective Veronica Montoya said detectives recognized the woman from earlier encounters when they viewed security camera footage from the Union Central Credit Union branch office that was robbed on Tuesday.

Detectives tracked down the 34-year-old woman and arrested her about 2:30 a.m. at a Salt Lake City residence. She was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery, as well as on several arrest warrants.

Police believe the woman walked into the credit union at 25 E. 1700 South about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, approached a clerk and demanded and received an unspecified amount cash. She then fled on foot, running eastbound on 1700 South.

No weapon was seen and no one was injured.
