Utah forecast: After the sunshine comes the rain

Northern Utah's forecast as the new week unfolds calls for a mix of sunshine and rain with daytime high temperatures in the 60s.

While Monday was expected to be rain-free, after Tuesday's daytime sunshine comes evening rain, preceded by winds in the 10-20 mph range.

Southern Utahns had none of that, however. Temperatures for Utah's Dixie come Tuesday were to rise to 80 degrees, up 5-8 degrees from Monday's forecast. A mix of sunny daytime skies and breezy, evening horizons partially covered by clouds were expected.

The Utah Division of Air Quality rated the entire state "green," or healthy for breathing through Wednesday.

However, that word from the DAQ elicited a resounding "Meh," from allergy sufferers: the Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website noted the cedar pollen levels were "very high" as the week got underway, with oak, maple, box elder and ash all "high." Cottonwood and birch pollens were at "moderate" levels.
