Last night (April 22) I attended the Olympus High School art department's studio art show, where the students hung examples of their creations for their invited guests and families to see and admire. These kids are talented. The show began with their art instructor explaining about their art and how the show was a culmination of a year's work.
I am not an art critic, however, I have 82 years of life experience and do worry about the future of our cities, state, country and world. Each night's news seems to cast doubt on the future of our globe.
When I left the show it was with the feeling of confidence in our future if it is being led by people like these young men and women who demonstrated knowledge, skill, leadership and organization.
When each took the microphone to explain their thought processes behind the art they had created, their level of maturity in thoughts and actions resolved my worry about where we are headed. With people like this coming along, our future is bright.
