Utah Highway Patrol troopers pulled a man from the Logan River late Saturday after he crashed his red pickup and was thrown into the water.
The driver from Bear Lake County, Idaho, was taken to Logan Regional Hospital and later flown to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden with serious injuries, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
He was about 8 feet into the river when troopers arrived after 4:25 p.m.
UHP Spokesman Joe Dougherty said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
According to initial reports, Sims lost control of his truck and veered off the road about 14 miles up Logan Canyon.
He was spotted by witnesses, who called for help.
