The Salt Lake City firefighters will honor a first among their fallen tomorrow morning.

Andrew Thorstrom woke up in Station 7 on April 30, 1929, ate breakfast and went back to his room. His crew members later found him there, dead from a heart attack. Thorstrom was the first to die of cardiac arrest while on duty in Salt Lake City Fire Department history, according to the department.

Wednesday morning, his modern-day brethren will hold a wreath ceremony for him at Station 7, which is exactly where it was 85 years ago, at 274 N. 1000 West.
