Mark your calendar for what promises to be an interesting evening at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.

On May 9 at 7 p.m., KUED Channel 7 will screen the documentary "Ruben Salazar: Man in the Middle." The Phillip Rodriquez film tells the story of the life and mysterious death of Texas journalist Ruben Salazar, who is best known for his reporting of the radical Chicano movement of the late 1960s.

After the screening, I will participate in a panel discussion about the importance of Latino voices — and all community voices — being represented in the media.

Other panelists include KUTV 2News anchor Cristina Flores; former Ano Masima News editor Richard Wolfgramm; and former Salt Lake Tribune reporter Jennifer W. Sanchez.
